Growing up I was involved in sports, but the school I attended was not large enough to have a track team (not that I would of joined back then). It was not until I was 24 years old, a little bit over the targeted weight in which I wanted to be (20-30lbs over) and was coming off some depression issues when I found running. As time has gone by, I have learned how to become a better runner from training partners and personal study.
It was not until June of 2013 when I started to eat clean to ensure my body is receiving the proper nutrition and cross-train to strengthen my core (which both have played a significant benefit in my running and personal life). After doing this, I started to post some of my best marathons including two Boston Qualifiers at The Mesa-Phx Marathon (2014) and Big Cottonwood Marathon (2014). With running, I hope to encourage others out there to reap the great benefits that endurance sports has to over both mentally and physically. I am honored to be part of the The Mesa-Phx Marathon team and look forward to seeing many of you out there on race day!
