Bio: I started to run to lose weight and become healthier. When I started my journey I was over 400 pounds and on the verge of being a diabetic. It took me about a year to lose 225 pounds and that was by walking and then running short distances (i.e. 5k). Once I started feeling confidence in my ability to complete 5K races, I started to increase my distance to 10K, Half Marathons and Marathons.
