Date: February 8, 2025 Participant: James Bosworth #20667 Race: 2025 Mesa 10K Distance: 6.2 miles Weather: Perfect running conditions at 63°F, partly cloudy skies, and a slight breeze from the east in Mesa, AZ.

Consistent Splits with Late Race Acceleration James Bosworth completed the 2025 Mesa Marathon 10K with a final time of 1:04:30, maintaining a steady average pace of 10:24 min/mile. Starting strong, James completed the first mile in 10:17, ranking as 6th in his division. Despite slowing slightly, his pace remained consistent through the middle miles with times of 11:08 and 10:37. Impressively, James found additional speed in the final two miles, managing splits of 9:51 and 9:42, showing a commendable acceleration towards the end. Although overall finishing dynamics changed, placing 11th in the M55-59 division out of a larger participant pool, James still achieved notable progress in late race pacing. For future races, a focus on maintaining the initial strong pace could optimize performance. Overall, James’ ability to accelerate in the latter miles exemplifies strong race management and persistence. Keep refining those strategies!
