Consistent Pace With Notable Improvements Karen Mullis, representing the 50 States Half Marathon Club, demonstrated consistent pacing at the 2025 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon. Her final time of 2:44:01 resulted in an average pace of 12:31 min/mile. Early splits reflect a strategic pacing approach, starting with a 13:42 min/mile and gradually improving to a more consistent sub-13 min/mile pace by mid-race. Notably, from miles 6 to 13, she consistently maintained or improved her pace, with the final split being her fastest at 11:57 min/mile, showing strong finishing potential. Karen's consistent ability to improve her pace in the middle to late miles of the race is commendable. To enhance future performances, focusing on early-stage pacing could be beneficial to avoid early time losses. Continuing to develop her strength in maintaining pace through the race, especially notable after the sixth mile, will be a worthwhile focus area for future training.
