Consistent Pacing with Late Challenge James Hemond delivered a strong performance at the 2025 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon. Starting with a pace of 10:33 min/mile in the first mile, James picked up speed, reaching his fastest split at mile 3 with a pace of 9:08 min/mile. His consistent pacing is commendable, maintaining a sub-10:00 min/mile speed until mile 7. At the 8th mile, his speed plateaued at a 10:00 min/mile pace, entering a slight decline towards the end of the race. In the latter part of the course, pacing averaged around 10:31 min/mile, with the slowest split at mile 13 registering at 11:54 min/mile. James completed the half marathon with a total time of 2:17:57. Competing in the M45-49 age division, he finished 124th out of the total 3859 participants. For future races, strategizing to maintain energy and momentum in the final miles could enhance overall performance.
