Consistent Pace with Late Race Improvements Vasudha Alla, competing at age 44 from Chandler, AZ, participated in the 2025 Mesa Marathon 10K. Throughout the race, Vasudha demonstrated a consistent pacing strategy, maintaining an overall average pace of 18:39 min/mile. Notably, she achieved her fastest mile in the final stretch with a split time of 17:30 min/mile during the sixth mile, showcasing an increase in speed and endurance as the race progressed. From the standpoint of placement, Vasudha finished 122nd in her F40-44 age division among 2107 participants overall. Her pacing was steady, as shown by her placement in the division, which remained fairly constant from the third split onward. For future races, sustaining the faster pace achieved during the final mile earlier on could enhance overall performance. Her determination and effort are evident and commendable, especially with the strong finish in the latter stages of the race.
