Consistent Pace With Resilient Finish Candice Fine ran a steady half marathon at the 2025 Mesa Marathon, clocking in at 2:40:55 with an average pace of 12:17 min/mile. Her performance impressed particularly in the first three miles, where she improved her pacing from 11:54 min/mile to 10:36 min/mile. The 7th to 9th miles saw paces above 12:00 min/mile, with the slowest splits recorded in the final two miles, at 14:18 min/mile and 13:42 min/mile, respectively. These are areas for pace management review. Comparing with previous races, Candice improved upon her slower 2022 performance and neared her 2013 timing, showing a positive trend. Finishing 2802nd out of 3859 participants, she held 72nd in her division. Participation with the East Valley Runners peer group might support her in maintaining or improving pace consistency for future events. Slight tweaks in pacing strategies might yield even firmer finishes in upcoming races.
