Consistent Effort with Fluctuating Pace Brooke Streicher participated in the 2025 Mesa Marathon, completing the 26.2-mile course in 6:00:48 at an average pace of 13:46 min/mile. Notably, her performance in the F45-49 division showcased moments of strong pacing, particularly with consistent split times in the middle miles. Her initial mile was clocked at 10:24 min/mile, and she had splits as fast as 11:08 min/mile at mile 17, a strong effort following several slower miles, ending with a final split of 19:36 min/mile. Brooke’s placement was 3076th overall out of 3624 participants, and she secured the 113th position in her division. The elapsed paces indicate an area to focus on would be maintaining a steadier pace, especially in the latter parts of the race. Fluctuations observed between miles 5 and 7 suggest evaluating pacing strategy for gradual inclines. Comparing this marathon to her previous half marathon performances, where she achieved significantly faster paces, strategies for sustaining energy over a full marathon distance could be refined further.
