Consistent Acceleration and Steady Improvement Claire Lewis showcased remarkable consistency in the 2025 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon. At age 62, she maintained an average pace of 8:49 min/mile, completing the race in 1:55:31. Notably, her pace improved compared to her previous races: a 6-second improvement per mile from the 2022 Marathon and a 10-second gain from the 2023 Marathon. Her performance placed her 7th in the F60-64 division, showing considerable progress against a larger field of 3859 participants. Analyzing her splits reveals an interesting pattern: Claire's strength seems to flourish in the latter part of the race, particularly exemplified by her 13th mile split time of 8:21, her fastest of the event. Her performance demonstrates potential for a stronger race finish. To further enhance performance, focusing on maintaining her early race pace could yield even better results.
