Steady Pace with a Strong Finish John Davis, at 55, represented the 50 States Half Marathon Club in the 2025 Mesa Marathon with a steady performance. His overall time was 2:36:25, averaging an 11:56 min/mile pace over the 13.1-mile course. John demonstrated a strategic approach, starting with a split pace of 12:26 min/mile for the first mile, and then briefly accelerating to 10:53 min/mile by the second mile. His best split was recorded at the 13th mile with a pace of 10:34 min/mile, indicating a strong finish. John placed 90th in his division (M55-59) out of a pool of participants. Although his position fluctuated, he consistently maintained pace stability between miles 9 to 11, with paces ranging from 12:04 to 12:15 min/mile.
