Consistent Gains Highlight Shannon's 10K Journey Shannon Brown from Queen Creek, AZ demonstrated a streamlined performance in the 2025 Mesa Marathon's 10K event. With a total distance of 6.2 miles, she completed the race in 1:00:57, achieving an average pace of 9:49 min/mile. As part of the East Valley Runners, Shannon's progression through each mile was steady, showing a remarkable decrease in split time by starting at 10:45 min/mile for the first mile and finishing with her fastest mile at 8:38 min/mile. Notably, her overall placement was 546th out of 2107 participants. Throughout the race, Shannon improved her standing in the division (F45-49), moving from 20th to a commendable 15th position. This race adds to her growing list of achievements following the marathon and half marathons in previous years. Shannon's ability to progressively enhance her pace in the latter miles is commendable. Focusing on maintaining this downward trend in pace could yield even stronger results in future races.
