Steady Improvement Throughout the Race Haneul Han participated in the 2025 Mesa Marathon, impressively maintaining consistency across the 13.1-mile half marathon distance. Notably, the pacing variance was minimal over the race. Starting with an 11:51 min/mile pace, Haneul adjusted as the race progressed, ultimately finishing with an elapsed pace of 14:44 min/mile. The initial splits were consistent, but a slight increase in time was observed as the race continued, peaking at a 17:06 min/mile pace during mile 9. Despite facing competitive pressure, Haneul stayed resilient among a large field, finishing 229th in the M30-34 division, with an overall place of 3237 out of 3859 participants. Around mile 12, there was a notable improvement in pace to 13:42 min/mile, indicating strong finishing energy. For future races, considering pacing strategies and perhaps incorporating variety in training could help in maintaining a more consistent pace throughout the middle sections of the race.
