Consistent Performance with Improved Splits Blake Crandell, a 13-year-old runner from Gilbert, AZ, showcased a consistent performance at the 2025 Mesa Marathon 10K event. Blake completed the race in 54:26, averaging an 8:46 min/mile pace over the 6.2-mile course. The overall pacing remained steady, particularly notable in the second half of the race, where the fifth and sixth splits recorded paces of 8:36 min/mile and 7:56 min/mile, which indicate a strong finish. Although early splits had a slower drop, the acceleration in the final miles is a sign of effective stamina. Maintaining a more consistent split pace throughout could further optimize performance. Blake secured 8th place in the M1-14 division, demonstrating significant improvement from previous races in the same category. His progress over the years, especially dropping from a 9:41 min/mile pace in 2024, confirms that Blake's dedication and training efforts are positively impacting his race outcomes.
