Steady Effort at the 2025 Mesa Marathon Carianne Crandell, a 42-year-old from Gilbert, AZ, ran a 10K in 1:32:02 at the 2025 Mesa Marathon, maintaining an average pace of 14:50 min/mile. She started strong with consistent paces close to 14:08 min/mile for the first two miles. However, the pace gradually slowed to 15:01 min/mile by mile four before recovering slightly towards the end, with the last split at 14:48 min/mile. Overall, Carianne placed 101st in her division from 6.2 miles among a total of 2107 participants. Her performance shows a slight increase in overall time compared to her previous 10K in 2024, where she clocked an elapsed time of 1:30:40. As she completes future races, focusing on maintaining a consistent pace in the latter portions could help improve her finish time, as was evident in mile four, where her pace increased to 17:12 min/mile.
