Date: February 8, 2025 Participant: Peilun Tsung #14204 Race: 2025 Mesa Marathon Distance: 26.2 miles Weather: Perfect running conditions at 63°F, partly cloudy skies, and a slight breeze from the east in Mesa, AZ.

Steady Start, Slower Finish Peilun Tsung exhibited a consistent pace at the beginning of the 2025 Mesa Marathon, maintaining a steady average of around 7:30 to 7:35 minutes per mile for the initial 10 miles. Notably, Peilun completed mile 12 with an impressive pace of 7:13 minutes per mile, marking a highlight in his performance. The overall elapsed time for the marathon was 3:31:33, translating to an average pace of 8:04 minutes per mile. However, the second half of the marathon saw a gradual slowdown. From mile 21 onwards, Peilun’s pace exceeded 9 minutes per mile, hitting 9:44 minutes by mile 26. Despite the slowing pace, Peilun managed to finish 788th overall out of 3,624 participants. In his age group division (M45-49), Peilun placed 64th, which is commendable. For future races, building on endurance late in the race could enhance overall performance.
