Consistent Pacing with a Strong Finish During the 2025 Mesa Marathon, Shannon Parks kept a consistent pace throughout the half marathon, culminating in a total elapsed time of 2:29:28 with an average pace of 11:24 min/mile. She showed great improvement in her pacing, especially from mile 3 onwards, with her fastest split recorded at 10:18 min/mile between miles 12 and 13. This consistent performance resulted in her placing 109th in the F50-54 division out of 3859 participants. Shannon was particularly impressive in the latter half of the race, where she managed to continuously cut down her split times. Notably, her final 5 miles were all paced faster than 11:10 min/mile, indicating enhanced stamina and pacing strategy. To build on this success, focusing on maintaining the early race speed could further enhance overall time. Congratulations to Shannon on her strong finish and representation of the 50 States Half Marathon Club.
