Date: February 8, 2025 Participant: Rachel Allen #15171 Race: 2025 Mesa Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Perfect running conditions at 63°F, partly cloudy skies, and a slight breeze from the east in Mesa, AZ.

Consistent Pace with Strategic Sprints Rachel achieved an overall time of 1:34:18 and an average pace of 7:11 min/mile in the 2025 Mesa Marathon half marathon. Her splits show a remarkable start, maintaining a pace of 7:07 min/mile at the 1-mile mark, and pushing to 6:51 min/mile at miles 3 and 6. Her performance was steady, with a slight slowdown to a 7:44 min/mile pace at the 10-mile mark, but she quickly regained speed, finishing with a strong 6:54 min/mile in the last mile. Despite a few fluctuations, Rachel improved her overall placement compared to her previous Mesa races, finishing 383rd out of 3859 participants, placing 21st in her division and 131st among female runners. Her ability to pace and strategically sprint bodes well for upcoming races, though maintaining consistent paces in later miles could further improve her results. Her progress from earlier races indicates solid development, especially given her last year’s pace of 7:08 min/mile.
