Date: February 8, 2025 Participant: Heather Chapman #15737 Race: 2025 Mesa Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Perfect running conditions at 63°F, partly cloudy skies, and a slight breeze from the east in Mesa, AZ.

Consistent Effort with Strategic Improvement at the Mesa Marathon Heather Chapman, representing the 50 States Half Marathon Club, delivered a solid performance at the 2025 Mesa Marathon. Completing the Half Marathon in 2:16:09 with an average pace of 10:23 min/mile, Heather maintained a steady effort throughout the race. She demonstrated early speed with her fastest pace of 8:58 min/mile in the second mile. Top performance indicators for Heather include finishing 975th out of 1,946 in her gender category and 161st in the F35-39 age division. Throughout the race, Heather showed resilience, tackling each mile with determination. We observed strategic pacing, starting strong but facing a drop in pace during the later miles, peaking at 11:40 min/mile in the ninth mile. A focus on maintaining early pace consistency could result in improved overall times. Heather's commitment to the race and her ability to maintain a mostly consistent pace is noteworthy as she progresses with the 50 States Half Marathon Club.
