Consistent Start, Challenging Finish Troy Clarke from Mesa, AZ, delivered a steady performance at the 2025 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon, representing the Crandell Crew team. His early splits showed consistent pacing, opening with a 9:14 min/mile and maintaining within this range through the first few miles. Notably, his third mile was his fastest at an 8:38 min/mile pace. At mile 6, his pace was 9:03 min/mile, reflecting a stable mid-race effort. As the race progressed, Troy faced a significant pace shift, with his slowest split recorded at 12:12 min/mile by mile 12. The overall elapsed time was 2:17:18, averaging a 10:28 min/mile pace. Compared to previous years, this marks a slower completion than his 2024 performance by about 14 minutes. Working on endurance in the later stages could enhance future race outcomes.
