Consistent Pacing, Slight Time Variation in 2025 Mesa Marathon Sitaram Lanka from Phoenix completed the 2025 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon with a total time of 2:00:49 and an average pace of 9:13 min/mile over 13.1 miles. He placed 1420th overall among 3859 participants. Impressively, Sitaram demonstrated consistent pacing throughout, with his single-mile split paces predominantly between 8:40 to 9:48 min/mile. Across the splits, Sitaram performed most consistently in miles 2 and 3 with a consistent pace of 8:40 to 8:42 min/mile. However, there was a negative pace trend in the latter stages, with the final mile being completed at 8:59 min/mile, slightly faster than some mid-race miles. Comparing to previous races, the completion time was just over two minutes slower than his past three Mesa Marathon performances. Focusing on the early to mid-race split consistency may guide improvements in subsequent races. Consider strategic pacing for taper at late stages.
