Consistent Pace with Room for Speed Adjustment Emma Worthen, age 20 from Phoenix, AZ, completed the 2025 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon with an official time of 2:17:32. Her average pace was 10:29 min/mile across the 13.1-mile course, placing her 2140th overall and 96th in her division for females aged 19-24 from 3859 participants. Emma maintained consistent pacing, with her fastest mile at 9:53 min/mile during miles 3 and 13, showing she has a capacity for quicker speeds. Emma's performance reflects solid pacing with splits predominantly within the 10:00 to 11:00 min/mile range. She began the race strong, reaching 9:38 min/mile at her second mile. Although her pace slightly decreased in the later stages, this is an excellent opportunity to focus on maintaining her early-race speed throughout the latter miles. Steady improvement in pacing will benefit her future racing prospects, building on the solid foundation established with her previous half marathon performance.
