Consistency in Splits Shines Despite Slower Finish Janice Stenglein from Apache Junction, AZ ran the 2025 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon with determination. Her splits showed a steady pace early on, with notable consistency in the first few miles. Her first split was completed at a pace of 12:06 min/mile. Janice maintained this consistent pace, managing to hover close to a 12:00 min/mile pace for the initial 6-mile stretch. This steady start positioned her well, especially within her division F50-54, where she held a top 100 standing initially. In the latter half of the race, Janice experienced some slowdown, particularly from mile 9 onward, with her pace extending to 16:37 min/mile for mile 10. Overall, she completed the race with an elapsed time of 2:54:44, slightly slower than her previous performance at the 2024 Mesa Marathon. Focusing on maintaining her early pace through later miles could be beneficial for future endeavors. Janice represented the AMP Run Team proudly.
