Maintaining Consistency with Steady Effort Xiaofan Yuan completed the 2025 Mesa Marathon with an official time of 6:21:34, maintaining a pace of 14:33 min/mile. Notably, she was consistent with her pacing as reflected in the 13:08 min/mile split at the 12-mile mark and averaging 14:11 min/mile over mile 24, showing resilience in later stages. Her overall placement was 3140th among 3624 participants, and she held 1148th place in the female category. In her age division of F25-29, she placed 183rd. Analyzing her splits, Xiaofan started with a strong pace of 10:36 min/mile at the first mile but experienced a gradual slowdown. The 7th mile was a highlight with an impressive 11:12 min/mile pace. Compared to last year's marathon performance of 6:12:25, Xiaofan managed to sustain her effort well across tough splits. Optimization of pacing, particularly in earlier miles, might help in achieving a stronger finish overall.
