Impressive Pace and Position in Division Ryan Shrum, 57, from Rossville, GA, showed exceptional consistency in the 2025 Mesa Marathon. With an average pace of 6:38 min/mile over the full marathon distance of 26.2 miles, Ryan clinched the top position in his division (M55-59). His race strategy was evident as he began with a steady pace of 6:39 min/mile for the first mile, maintaining close to that throughout, even improving to 6:25 min/mile in the final stretch at mile 26. Throughout the race, Ryan displayed impressive endurance, moving from 224th overall at the 1-mile mark to finishing 124th out of 3,624 participants. In the male gender category, he advanced from 212th to 119th. Notably, he improved his division standing from 6th early on to 1st, a testament to his strategic pacing and stamina.
