Date: February 8, 2025 Participant: Julie Wyngaert #19162 Race: 2025 Mesa Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Perfect running conditions at 63°F, partly cloudy skies, and a slight breeze from the east in Mesa, AZ.

Consistency Amid Decreasing Split Times Julie maintained a consistent pace in the initial stages of the 2025 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon, with her first mile at 17:12 and slightly improving to 16:53 by mile 2. Notably, Julie's performance during these splits reflected her strategic pacing, especially as she placed 69th in her age division (F55-59) after the first mile. As the race progressed, her pace gradually slowed, finishing with an overall pace of 18:45 min/mile. The later miles displayed variability, with times ranging from 17:54 to 20:30. By mile 13, Julie's elapsed time reached 4:03:36, holding 111th place in her division. Great effort was shown despite the slowing pace in the latter part of the race. Focusing on endurance in the middle miles might provide an opportunity for keeping a more consistent overall pace in future events. Keep working on those middle miles to boost overall performance.
