Consistent Pace and Improved Performance Highlight Race Day Rex Williams completed the 2025 Mesa Marathon half marathon in 2:28:52 with an average pace of 11:21 min/mile. Notably, Rex's pace remained stable throughout the race, showcasing a well-managed effort. The first half of the race was covered at a slightly faster pace, with seven splits under 11:12 min/mile. His finishing position was 109th in the M50-54 age division, placing him in the top 30% of his division among 3859 participants in the race. In comparison to the previous year's event, Rex's performance showed substantial improvement. He shaved off nearly 9 minutes from his prior race time of 2:37:21. His pacing strategy effectively contributed to this positive outcome. Areas of note include a slight slowdown between miles 8 and 10, where paces hit 11:53 and 11:55 min/mile. With continued focus on maintaining even splits in the latter stages, future improvements could be anticipated.
