Steady Pacing with a Strong Finish Christina Aponte, at age 44 from Elyria, OH, showcased a commendable performance at the 2025 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon. Throughout the race, Christina maintained a steady pace with an overall elapsed time of 2:19:45 and an average pace of 10:40 min/mile. Starting strong with a pace of 10:24 min/mile in her first mile, she managed to improve her pace to 9:55 min/mile by the second mile. Her consistent pacing helped her maintain a strong position among her peers, finishing 146th in the F40-44 division. Particularly notable were her performances in the middle miles, where she maintained an average pace of around 10 minutes per mile. However, Christina experienced a gradual slow down towards the last few miles but managed to pick up the pace toward the finish line with a final mile pace of 10:19 min/mile. Enhancing her pacing strategy over longer distances could further optimize her performance in future races. Keep up the good work!
