Date: February 8, 2025 Participant: Tate Romney #21953 Race: 2025 Mesa 10K Distance: 6.2 miles Weather: Perfect running conditions at 63°F, partly cloudy skies, and a slight breeze from the east in Mesa, AZ.

Impressive Progress: Cutting Down Time in the 10K Tate demonstrated notable improvement in the 2025 Mesa Marathon 10K, clocking a final time of 54:56, which is a significant decrease from the 1:04:05 he recorded in the previous year's race. This equates to an improved pace of 8:51 min/mile from the earlier 10:20 min/mile. A highlight was the strong pace at the second mile with a 7:33 min/mile split, showcasing a commendable performance in mid-race speed. While Tate's positions varied across the splits, maintaining strong placements in the M1-14 division is worth noting. He placed 11th in his division with consistent execution particularly in the middle miles. There was a noticeable deceleration in the last two miles, with times of 10:27 and 10:01 respectively. Focusing on maintaining momentum in the latter stages could lead to further reductions in overall time. Tremendous effort and continued progress are evident in this race.
