Consistent Start, Challenging Finish Blake Pierce, racing in the 2025 Mesa Marathon, showcased notable consistency in the first half of the race. Across the initial 10 miles, Blake maintained an average pace around 10:00 min/mile, with the 9th split showcasing his quickest split time at 9:51 min/mile. His overall position varied slightly, stabilizing between 2537 and 2667 within this interval. In the latter half, Blake faced increasing challenges as splits began to slow, particularly between miles 18 and 25, where the pace ranged from 11:27 to 14:31 min/mile. Notably, the last mile presented an uptick in pace compared to mile 23, showing effort in concluding the race strongly. Overall, Blake completed the marathon in 4:44:44, securing 182nd place in his division. For future races, focusing on pacing strategies in the later miles could be beneficial.
