Date: February 8, 2025 Participant: Lauren Weigand #14401 Race: 2025 Mesa Marathon Distance: 26.2 miles Weather: Perfect running conditions at 63°F, partly cloudy skies, and a slight breeze from the east in Mesa, AZ.

Consistent Early Pace, Slight Decline in Later Splits Lauren Weigand from Mesa, AZ, delivered a steady performance at the 2025 Mesa Marathon, completing the 26.2-mile course with an elapsed time of 3:50:43 and an overall pace of 8:48 min/mile. Notably, Lauren maintained her early mile splits in the 7:56-8:07 min/mile range, which showed her potential for speed and pacing. During the initial half, she consistently placed around 1100-1300 overall, placing as high as 231st within her gender in the fourth mile. Throughout the latter part of the marathon, Lauren experienced some decline in pace, with splits ranging from 8:54 to 10:34 min/mile. Nonetheless, the overall performance demonstrated an improvement from her previous personal record at the 2024 Mesa Marathon Half, where she completed a half marathon with a 9:14 min/mile pace. Moving forward, focusing on maintaining consistent pacing in the later stages could help enhance overall performance. Her consistent early-mile strengths are an excellent foundation.
