Consistent Pace with Notable Splits Tara Anderson, 53 from Woodbridge, VA, competed in the 2025 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon representing Black Girls RUN!. Her overall time was 3:34:23, covering 13.1 miles with an average pace of 16:21 min/mile. Tara's initial splits were consistent, opening with a 15:00 min/mile pace in the first mile. Although there was some variation throughout the race, her pacing remained relatively steady. Tara's best split occurred between miles 1 and 2, where she improved her pace to 14:52 min/mile. She finished 3337th out of 3859 participants and 1799th among women. In the F50-54 division, her placement was 163rd. Encouragingly, Tara improved her placement significantly in the final mile, moving up from 3086th to 3337th place overall. Emphasizing consistent pacing throughout the entire race and reducing the difference between her fastest and slowest splits may help improve her performance in future races.
