Consistent Effort with Strong Splits Amy Bender from Woodbury, MN, completed the 2025 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon with a total time of 2:05:36, maintaining a steady average pace of 9:35 min/mile. She showed resilience throughout the race, and her performance ranked her 734th among female participants and 62nd in her division for females aged 50-54. Notably, her strongest split appeared between mile 5 (9:05 min/mile) and mile 6 (8:54 min/mile), showcasing her ability to pick up the pace mid-race. Even though Amy showed a slower overall finish compared to her previous race in 2023, where she completed the race in 1:51:27 at an 8:30 min/mile pace, her performance this year reflects a steady commitment. Focusing on late-race pacing might help return to her previous quicker times. Notably, her finish placed her within the top 20% of the total 3859 participants.
