Craig's Consistent Marathon Progress Craig Plenn completed the 2025 Mesa Marathon with a finish time of 4:01:27, averaging a pace of 9:12 minutes per mile. His splits reveal a strong and steady start, with the first mile clocked at 8:24. By mile 3, his pace improved to 8:17, demonstrating his capability to maintain a consistent rhythm early on. Between miles 17 and 19, Craig showed resilience by achieving a remarkable split pace deviation, clocking in at 7:56 for mile 17 and markedly holding it through the 19th mile. He placed 116th in his division, which highlights the competitiveness in the M45-49 category. Analyzing the latter half, as the race worn on, the pace slowed, particularly from mile 21 onwards, where split times fell between 10:15 and 12:41. Despite this, Craig shaved over two minutes off his previous marathon time from 2023. Focusing on maintaining consistent pace throughout will likely further improve his marathon results.
