Date: February 8, 2025 Participant: Keaton Piper #13258 Race: 2025 Mesa Marathon Distance: 26.2 miles Weather: Perfect running conditions at 63°F, partly cloudy skies, and a slight breeze from the east in Mesa, AZ.

Consistent Start, Challenging Finish Keaton Piper started strong in the 2025 Mesa Marathon, maintaining an early pace close to 6:30 min/mile. His fastest split was at mile 1, finishing at 6:21. During the initial miles, his consistent pacing kept him within the top 250 runners. His mid-race performance remained steady around the 6:40 to 6:50 min/mile mark until mile 20. In the final quarter of the race, there was a noticeable slowdown, with splits increasing above 7 min/mile. The most challenging mile appeared to be the 21st, with a split of 8:13. Despite this, Keaton finished the marathon with a time of 3:07:02, achieving an average pace of 7:08 min/mile. He ranked 62nd in his age division and 271st among male participants. Maintaining a consistent pace in the later stages could improve overall performance. Excellent effort, Keaton!
