Steady Effort with Consistent Pacing Carol Dates completed the 2025 Mesa Marathon half marathon with a time of 3:07:51, resulting in an average pace of 14:20 min/mile. A steady start was evident as she clocked a 12:14 min/mile in her initial split. Her fastest segment occurred in mile three, dropping to an 11:56 min/mile pace. Notably, her performance in the F65-69 age division placed her consistently between the 12th and 38th positions across the course. Carol showed considerable consistency, maintaining close pacing particularly between miles 9 and 13, where her splits were consistently around 14:30 min/mile. Finishing as the 38th in her division out of 38 speaks to the competitive field and highlights an opportunity to improve in overall rankings. Her overall and gender placements were 3193 and 1695, respectively. Progressing on pacing through the later stages could further enhance her performance in future races.
