Date: February 8, 2025 Participant: Sarah Quiroz #18033 Race: 2025 Mesa Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Perfect running conditions at 63°F, partly cloudy skies, and a slight breeze from the east in Mesa, AZ.

Consistent Pace and Steady Gains Sarah maintained a steady pace throughout the 2025 Mesa Marathon, finishing with a total time of 2:53:46 in the half marathon. Her overall elapsed pace was recorded at 13:15 min/mile. Notably, her quickest split was between miles 2 and 3 with a pace of 12:11 min/mile, showcasing her potential for bursts of speed. She maintained mostly consistent pacing, with all splits comfortably within a per-mile range of 12:11 to 14:35. Sarah's performance in the Female 45-49 division revealed some competitive stats, finishing 165th out of her division group. Despite a few later splits slowing slightly, her consistent middle splits suggest potential for improvement with pacing strategies. Participating with the "We Teach, We Run, We Drink" team, her race experience in the age-appropriate division showed progress. Encouragement can be made to focus on sustaining her quicker paces seen earlier in the race for future events.
