Consistent Pacing and Strategic Finish Octavio Aguado executed a strong performance at the 2025 Mesa Marathon half marathon event. Starting with a split pace of 7:26 min/mile in the first mile, he demonstrated consistent pacing throughout the race. Notably, his pace improved significantly in the later stages, reaching a swift 6:25 min/mile in the final mile. Octavio maintained a steady effort, with six of his splits showing a pace under 7:00 min/mile, contributing to his overall race time of 1:31:05 and an average pace of 6:57 min/mile. Octavio placed within the top 8% overall, securing 300th place out of 3,859 participants, and 200th among 2,301 male competitors. His ability to improve pace as the race progressed is commendable, especially his strong finishes in the last miles. As a member of the Atlanta Run Club, Octavio’s performance highlights his dedication and strategy. Continuing to work on sustaining strong initial splits could further enhance his overall performance.
