Consistent Pacing and a Strong Finish at Mesa Half Marathon Matthew maintained a commendable performance throughout the race with consistent pacing, showing resilience in the various splits. Starting with a time of 9:21 during the first mile, he progressively improved his pacing, reaching an 8:01 pace by the third mile. His split times remained steady, indicating a well-paced race strategy, with the final pacing average being 8:28 min/mile. Notably, the improvement between miles two and three suggests a good adaptation to the race dynamics. Despite fluctuations in placement, there was a significant improvement in his rank during the latter part of the race, notably moving up from 930th to 848th between miles 11 and 12. A final elapsed time of 1:51:01 highlights his endurance over the 13.1-mile course. For future races, focusing on slightly elevating the pace in the early segments could potentially enhance overall performance, given his promising progression in the latter miles.
