Date: February 8, 2025 Participant: David Fields #11331 Race: 2025 Mesa Marathon Distance: 26.2 miles Weather: Perfect running conditions at 63°F, partly cloudy skies, and a slight breeze from the east in Mesa, AZ.

Consistent Start, Challenging Finish David Fields maintained a solid pace throughout much of the 2025 Mesa Marathon. He started strong with his initial 5 miles showing promise, averaging around 7:05 to 7:14 min/mile. Notably, his sixth to ninth miles were impressive, with times under 7 minutes, demonstrating his capability to maintain a commendable pace. Toward the last stages, David experienced a slowdown, with his pace per mile gradually slowing from 7:29 to 8:00 min/mile as the race progressed. The most significant deceleration appeared between miles 21 and 24, where his mile times ranged from 9:03 to nearly 12 minutes. However, David's overall performance was consistent with an elapsed time of 3:29:34, placing him 116th in his division. Going forward, focusing on endurance during the late stages of races could help maintain his strong performances throughout. Keep up the great work with the Atlanta Run Club!
