Consistent Splits with Strong Finish Tunde Akinyeke from Atlanta, GA, delivered a commendable performance at the 2025 Mesa Marathon half marathon, maintaining a consistent pace throughout. Averaging a 6:19 min/mile over 13.1 miles, Tunde displayed steady pacing, reflected in the early splits of 6:34, 6:13, and 6:09 min/mile for miles one through three. Notably, the split pace of 6:15 min/mile for mile twelve distinguished itself as one of the faster segments, showcasing Tunde's ability to maintain speed toward the end. An impressive steady run saw Tunde placing 10th in the Men's 40-44 division against a large field. The middle split times of 5:52 for mile two and 5:49 for the final mile highlight Tunde's ability to accelerate at key moments in the race. Tunde's association with the Atlanta Run Club seems to have provided a positive influence on his training and race performance. Working on endurance and race strategy can further improve finish times and placing.
