Consistent Pace Improvement Leads to Top 5 Division Finish Steve, representing Club Sando in the 2025 Mesa Marathon, maintained an impressive average pace of 6:22 min/mile over 26.2 miles. He secured a top 5 finish in his division (M40-44), placing 5th out of a very competitive field, as he crossed the finish line with a strong final mile split of 5:59 min/mile. This consistency and final push showcase his strong endurance and strategic pacing. Notably, Steve displayed pacing consistency with many splits only slightly varying from an overall pace of 6:23 min/mile. Compared to his previous Mesa Marathon time of 2:50:18 in 2022, he improved by over three minutes, highlighting his enhanced endurance and refined race strategy. Maintaining a steady pace through the latter half of the race, despite a slight slowdown between miles 18-24, indicates an area where even more gains could be realized in future races. Overall, an outstanding achievement.
