Date: February 8, 2025 Participant: Rose Gallo #11438 Race: 2025 Mesa Marathon Distance: 26.2 miles Weather: Perfect running conditions at 63°F, partly cloudy skies, and a slight breeze from the east in Mesa, AZ.

**Consistent Start with a Challenging Finish** Rose Gallo completed the 2025 Mesa Marathon with an overall time of 4:27:44, maintaining an average pace of 10:13 minutes per mile over the full 26.2 miles. Rose demonstrated a strong start, with her first mile pacing at 8:39 min/mile, leading to her achieving her highest ranking of 1409 overall and 433rd in her gender at this early stage. Her splits showed varied pacing, with the initial three miles staying under 9-minute miles before experiencing some fluctuations. Her pacing remained steady around 9-minute miles through midway, with notable consistency between miles 6 and 12, each near the 9-minute mile mark. The later miles presented more of a challenge, particularly from mile 15 onward, as her pace gradually increased, peaking at 13:54 min/mile in mile 21. Despite slowing down, she maintained admirable effort through to the finish. For improvement, consider working on maintaining a consistent pace through later miles.
