Consistent Pace with Late Race Challenges Deidre Trujillo, 33, of Goodyear, AZ, completed the 2025 Mesa Marathon with an overall time of 4:30:51, maintaining an average pace of 10:20 min/mile. Her early splits were commendable, particularly the first mile at 9:44 min/mile, showcasing a strong start. Notably, she managed to maintain sub-10-minute paces for several stretches, especially mile 4 with an impressive 9:15 min/mile split pace. Her steady performance positioned her 728th out of 3,624 female participants in her gender category. Although her paces slightly decreased toward the latter part of the race, Deidre exemplified resilience, particularly during some of the longer splits such as mile 25, which took 12:52. Identifying areas for potential pacing adjustments in the latter miles could yield improvements in overall race time. Despite the challenges, finishing as part of Club Sando in the top third in the F30-34 age division is an admirable achievement. Maintaining consistent pacing in future events could optimize Deidre’s performance.
