Date: February 8, 2025 Participant: Aileen Wright Bacon #19156 Race: 2025 Mesa Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Perfect running conditions at 63°F, partly cloudy skies, and a slight breeze from the east in Mesa, AZ.

Consistent Pace with Strategic Recoveries Aileen efficiently managed her pacing throughout each mile of the half marathon, starting with a strong 14:44 min/mile, and adjusting strategically, particularly noting a quicker 14:35 min/mile split at mile 5. She reached the finish line with an overall pace of 15:47 min/mile, which reflects a solid effort over the 13.1 miles. Her Elapsed Time of 3:26:56 provides a foundation upon which she can build in future races. Impressively, Aileen maintained her position remarkably well, especially in the latter stages, as her Place Gender F number barely shifted across the splits, hovering comfortably just above 1700 and concluding at 1785 out of 3859 total participants. Focused training sessions targeting sustaining speed in the middle splits could enhance her endurance further. Representing the 50 States Half Marathon Club, Aileen demonstrated consistent effort, punctuated with strategic recoveries, showcasing valuable experience for future half marathons.
