Steady Strategy with a Strong Finish! Katie Rafferty, participating in the 2025 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon, maintained a consistent pace throughout her run. Notably, her split paces consistently hovered around the 11-minute mark, with a few significant instances. She started with an 11:37 min/mile and gradually improved, achieving her fastest split in the 13th mile at 10:14 min/mile. Despite minor fluctuations, she demonstrated endurance and an ability to push through challenging segments. Her overall time was 2:25:49, with an average pace of 11:07 min/mile. Placing 1201st among female participants and 191st in the F35-39 division, she showed consistent performance across the board. Notably, Katie's peak split was accomplished in the final mile, indicating a strong finish. For future races, she might focus on maintaining those strong finishing splits earlier on to shave off additional time. Being part of the 50 States Half Marathon Club, her performance adds another accomplished race to her journey.
