Consistent Effort with Pace Fluctuations Indira Bernal Castillo from Los Angeles participated in the 2025 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon, representing the OBRunners team. Her performance showcased initial pacing adjustments, with a first mile split of 10:40. Her pace improved notably at mile 3, reflected by a split time of 9:07 and an overall elapsed pace of 9:45 min/mile. This segment was her fastest, a strong indicator of potential. In the second half of the race, Indira navigated challenges, experiencing slight slowdowns, particularly in the final miles where her pace dropped to 12:48 min/mile at mile 12. Despite this, she maintained a consistent overall neighborhood in rankings, finishing with an elapsed pace of 10:46 min/mile. One area of focus could be maintaining pacing through the later miles, as this could help in achieving even faster times in future races. Indira finished 176th in her division among a robust field of participants.
