Strong Mid-Race Split Improvements Mark Performance in Mesa Marathon James Miller, a 23-year-old marathoner from Fargo, ND, demonstrated consistent pacing throughout the 2025 Mesa Marathon. Initially maintaining a steady pace, his performance was highlighted by split improvements around the middle of the race. His splits were generally consistent, with a marked improvement at mile 17, clocking an 8:19 min/mile pace, compared to the surrounding splits. Where James excelled was in maintaining a solid race pace. He completed the marathon in 3:58:42, with an average pace of 9:06 min/mile. In terms of placement, he was 121st in his division, with generally stable standings throughout the race. A slight decline in speed was noted from mile 20 onwards, with split times increasing, suggesting this is an area to focus on for future races. Continuing to work on maintaining energy distribution over the final segments of the marathon will contribute positively to future performances.
