Date: February 8, 2025 Participant: Nathan Davis #11030 Race: 2025 Mesa Marathon Distance: 26.2 miles Weather: Perfect running conditions at 63°F, partly cloudy skies, and a slight breeze from the east in Mesa, AZ.

Consistent Performance with a Strong Start Nathan maintained a consistent and impressive pace in the first half of the race, with initial miles featuring times consistently close to the 5:30 mark, including an early peak at 5:22 min/mile. His steady performance was further demonstrated with nine consecutive miles between 5:30 and 5:39 min/mile, culminating in a strong placement of 1st in the M19-24 division until the 10th mile. At mile 18, Nathan showed stamina, finishing that split in 6:07, placing him second overall before eventually facing more competition later on. In the latter half, there was a slight slowdown, with paces increasing to around 6:00 min/mile. Despite this, Nathan maintained a strong overall average pace of 6:01 min/mile for the marathon. Ending up 3rd in the M19-24 division, his performance was competitive among 3624 participants. Future exploration into pacing strategies in the final stretches could further reinforce his already impressive endurance.
