Strong Splits with Second Place Division Finish Annwen's performance at the 2025 Mesa Marathon showcased consistency in the 10K event. Her splits demonstrate her steady pacing ability, with the first four miles maintaining a similar pace, ranging from 6:39 to 7:02 min/mile. Notably, she picked up the pace during the fifth mile, recording her fastest split at 6:01 min/mile. Finishing time was 41:07, averaging a pace of 6:37 min/mile. Annwen claimed 3rd place in her age division (F19-24) and placed 19th among female participants. Her ability to sustain a consistent pace speaks to her solid conditioning, particularly maintaining her effort through mile six. Focusing on sustaining that increased pace from mile five across all splits could benefit future races. Overall, Annwen represented her team, Goblins, Goons, & Gremlins, with a commendable effort in a competitive field of 2107 participants.
