Date: February 8, 2025 Participant: Kimberly Scott #22021 Race: 2025 Mesa 10K Distance: 6.2 miles Weather: Perfect running conditions at 63°F, partly cloudy skies, and a slight breeze from the east in Mesa, AZ.

Consistent Effort and Strong Finish Kimberly Scott showcased consistency and determination at the 2025 Mesa Marathon 10K event. Beginning with a steady pace of 17:51 min/mile for the first mile, she gradually improved her pace in the second mile to 17:26 min/mile. Her strongest performance came in the final stretch, where she recorded her fastest split of 15:18 min/mile, indicating a well-managed strategy and strong finish. Over the course, she maintained an average pace of 17:02 min/mile. Occupying the 70th position in the F50-54 division, Kimberly’s overall placement was 1687 out of 2107 total participants. This shows her persistence paid off, as she managed to advance in her overall and gender placements in the latter half of the race. As a representative of the Black Girls RUN! team, Kimberly can focus on maintaining her later mile paces in earlier segments to further elevate her performance next time.
